Day 2: Aru to Lidderwat

After healthy breakfast which will pump you up for the entire day. From Aru, we start to Lidderwat(altitude - 9000 ft) for a camping experience. It’s a moderate trek with mild ascent and descent leading to a beautiful camping meadow. The total time taken would be around 7 hours. You will see heaven all around you on reaching the camping location, and this is just the beginning. On one side, you will have the Lidder River, and from the other side, the Kolahoi glacier flows down to meet the river. ‘Lidder’ + ‘wat’, meaning ‘Lidder Mixture’ make up the word Lidderwat.
Enjoy the pure silence, sound of water, and refreshing views, combined with a crisp cup of tea and Maggi. Then enjoy and share stories of your travel while calmly drifting into the night.

Day 3: Lidderwat to Shekhwas

From Lidderwat, we start to Shekwas, which is at 11039 ft. Again, the trek is moderate. It’s a gradual ascent for about 2 hours with few flat trails. Stop midway whenever you feel like absorbing the essence of Bakerwal shelters, meadows, water streams, pine forests, etc. Consequently, the wooden bridges will surely rave up your excitement and will make you crave for more. En route, you will find many nomad huts, shepherds, flocks of sheep. Stop at some location for a tea/coffee break.

Day 4: Shekhwas to Tarsar

Get ready to ascend to 12500 ft to surrender to the views of Tarsar lake, an almond-shaped alpine lake. It is a 4 hours gradual climb, but you will see Kolahai peaks overlooking the lake after this. Cross a stream full of boulders and rocks, which will open up to the vast open area and views of turquoise blue waters of the Tarsar lake.
Upon reaching, build a camp and reflect on the beauty of nature. You are open to exploring as you wish.

Day 5: Tarsar to Sundersar

Wake up to the panorama - a classic dream come true. Then, get ready to go to Sundersar, which is at the height of 12900 ft. It will take around 5 hours for the whole hike.
Finally, as you cross the Tarsar pass, you will see a vast stretch of grassland that leads to Sundersar. The trek would soon lead you to the Sundersar lake, equally clean and reflecting the views of the surroundings.

Day 6: Visit Marsar and go to Homwas

This day will start with an ascent to Marsar and then a descent to Homwas at 11500 ft. Marsar, which is at the height of 13200 ft, is the highest point of our whole trek.

The trail is tricky with some gradients. The Marsar lake is similar to Tarsar lake; hence, it is also called the twin sister of Tarsar. The Marsar lake connects with Dachigam National Park and outlets its water into the Dal lake. Needless to say, the complete trail is laden with beautiful pristine views.

Day 7: Homwas to Aru. Drive back to Srinagar

This is the last day of our trek. From Homwas, we descend from Aru via Lidderwat. Pickup from Aru Valley and drive back to Srinagar. Overnight stay in Houseboat / Hotel.
